About Us

The New Jersey College Promise Action Network is a recent effort to link people who care about the nine state colleges and universities with those in a position to make them a higher priority on the State’s agenda, to broaden access and affordability. The network gives citizens information about state and federal policy and budget decisions being considered, and a means of expressing their concerns about college opportunity and about the colleges’ and universities’ critical role in the future prosperity of New Jersey.

The Network was formed by the New Jersey Association of State Colleges and Universities in response to the reality that the State of New Jersey, facing many fiscal problems over the past 21 years, has not made the investment necessary to provide college opportunity to a growing population and it has gradually shifted the burden of college costs toward students and families. The leaders of the Association, including college and university presidents and trustees, believe that the cycle of disinvestment must stop, but that this will only happen if many citizens are aware of issues and facts and have the opportunity to voice their views.

This advocacy web site provides key information and tools of interest to Action Network members. Other information will be sent to members via e-mail on a periodic basis. In the meantime, please contact us at (609) 989-1100 should you have any questions. Thank you again for considering participation. Many voices will make a difference!

New Jersey College Promise Action Network was founded and is supported by the New Jersey Association of State Colleges and Universities, a nonprofit corporation chartered by law to advocate the policy interests of the nine state colleges and universities. The Association not a lobbying body; it neither contributes to, nor endorses, political candidates and office holders. Views expressed by individuals participating in the Network, beyond policy positions it explicitly advocates, are the individuals’ own.
